I’ll admit it. I’m a flavored coffee junkie. It doesn’t matter if it’s mocha or peppermint, I love to add different flavors to my morning coffee. I have a Cuisinart SS-10 coffee maker, which is one of the best coffee makers out there in my opinion. When the holidays roll around, I enjoy trying different syrups and creamers that are loaded with festive flavors. If you’d like to add a bit of holiday cheer to your morning coffee, here are just five ideas to get your started.
When I think of Christmas, I immediately think of peppermint. You can add peppermint to your morning coffee by stirring it with a candy cane or adding syrup or creamer. One of my favorites is peppermint mocha creamer. Add some whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and crushed peppermints to the top and you’ve got a special treat.
Another popular flavor used during the holidays is cinnamon. I love to sprinkle cinnamon on coffee drinks that have been topped with whipped cream, but you can also find cinnamon syrups and pumpkin spice creamers. You can also stir your coffee with a cinnamon stick.
Eggnog has to be my all-time favorite holiday drink. While it may seem odd, eggnog actually adds great flavor to coffee. There are creamers with eggnog flavor or you could stir in your favorite brand of eggnog. Add a squirt of chocolate sauce and you’ll have a chocolate eggnog coffee that you will love.
Love gingerbread cookies? Then why not add the flavor to your morning coffee? Again, you can find creamers with the flavor of gingerbread or you can add molasses and spices to your coffee. This can take a bit of trial and error to get right, but once you do you’ll love the results.
If you enjoy mochas, chocolate is nothing new to your morning brew. During the holidays, why not shake things up with different types of chocolate and additional ingredients? For example, you could have a white chocolate peppermint coffee or a dark chocolate cinnamon coffee. Dress the drinks up with whipped cream and toppings for a special treat before work.
Add holiday cheer to those cold mornings by adding a bit of flavor to your morning coffee. This is a great way to start a cold Monday morning or get ready for a day of Christmas shopping. Try combining a few of these ideas to create unique combinations, such as peppermint eggnog. There are so many wonderful combinations and you’re only limited by your creativity.
